CLM-TCP: TCP Congestion Control Mechanism using Cross Layer for Wireless Mesh Networks
Abstract: The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) has been extensively researched across various networking technologies, including wireless, optical, satellite, sensor, and wired, as it is the most widely used protocol on the Internet. In Wireless mesh networks, this protocol still faces challenges due to its origins and implementations designed for wired networks. This paper proposes an adaptation of the congestion control mechanism by utilizing information from the network layer to enhance TCP performance through a vertical calibration across layer technique. The outcome is the Cross Layer Mesh – Transmission Control Protocol (CLM-TCP). To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposal, simulations were conducted using the NS-2 simulator.
